ONUG

ONUG

ONUG... what in the world is that? We went into the exhibit hall at the Omni and saw cameras(CNN, ESPN, C-span, etc.) and all the major media outlets including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. The first place we went to in the hall was a small place with a banner that said ONUG. We found out that ONUG stands for One Nation Under God. It was really cool. we got tee-shirts, stickers, and photographs. Mr. Derrick Tennant was the comedian at the booth who told us alot about ONUG and his website www.leftarmcomedy.com. I thought it was really neat that God has used his comedic talents to spread Christianity... even though his left arm is paralyzed.

Washington Briefing

Washington Briefing
This weekend my mother had to go do this "Washington Briefing" thing which , in fact, did not sound too fun. Then I heard it would be Friday - Sunday. Skipping school made all the difference. So, Thursday at exactly 3:15, my mother pulled up at the school in a 5 seat Mercedes. She had accompanying her The Dreamer and The Darlin' Boo. 5 seats subtract 3 persons ( see math teacher I did do some math over the weekend... I think.) = 2 seats left for me, The Diva, and The Dancer. Plus luggage. Hour long trip. Yippee.
When we got within half-an-hour of the Omni Hotel, we decided it was break time. Mom went and bought us enough stuff to take up another seat and a half. Eventually, we found a plan to get everyone inside the car. But not enough room for seatbelts. We are two minutes away from the Omni and there are a total of 14 cop cars all around us. However, we made it to the hotel with no ticket.
The next morning we went to go get some breakfast and there were some protesters protesting (well duh, they wouldn't be called protestors if they weren't protesting) the Washington Briefing. I did some nifty tricks with Fireworks to give them some dignity(and those posters are great too).

Next The Dreamer guest blogging on Panzer Commander.

9/11/2001

9/11/2001
5 years ago, I faintly remember that carefree morning when my mother turned off our cartoons(which I remember the most) and turned on the news. Big pause. I just saw a big building with a bunch of smoke coming out of it; now I see 2,600 dead Americans, and a few dead terrorists......That day, after dad had explained to me how the terrorist had crashed into two of the nations most important buildings, I went to my dads old closet picked up a few things. An old army field jacket, a small "sword", a pair of giant "clown boots" that got "coffee spilled on them", a pair of gloves, and a wierd hat. I put them all on and defended my country bravely... on the back porch.

Class election

Class election
Yesterday, there was an election for class president and vice president. We had two days to campaign. Ha. Since I was the the new kid I figured no one would vote for me; but I still really wanted to win. Not only because I would get more friends but it would include quite a few more people in the class(And a little for the glory :-). My teacher asked us to think up a speech to say before the election so any last unsure voters would get an idea for who to vote for. I really took the speech seriously and I shouldn't have. Everyone just came up to the podium and said something like: "I want to be class oficer because I want everyone to have less homework and more parties." Or, "I want to be class oficer because it would be really fun."And (this came from the person who won) "I want to be class president because I've been class president 3 years and a row." But it's not their fault that I thought that their speeches were, um, well, un-political. My speech went like this: "To start off, I want to quote Nelson Mandela. Quote, "We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous ,talented , and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God." End quote. Then I picked up, " And with that I hope everyone has run a clean campaign." I was hoping for some blushes. "Now, I'm the kid in school as I've been the past 3-4 years at other schools, however, the new broom sweeps clean." Pause. "This year I want to be an example of servant leadership; doing this my new agenda will include everyone in the class. So, I look foward to serving the class and I look foward to ........................ the victory celebration with Crispy Creme Doughnuts. Thank you." No clapping except for a few who were very nice... or very mocking. I got 1 vote. No, I didn't forget the 0. I only got one vote. I didn't even vote for myself!!! It was humiliating. But the person I voted for was Vice president, so I was not completely crushed. Next post on 9/11/2001.
