Bill Maher Halloween costume

Just look what Bill Maher decided to wear for halloween. Dressing up as Steve Irwin with a fake stingray sting in the heart is not funny, scary,or sensitive.

Friends at GodBlogCon

Friends at GodBlogCon

Today we went to MSNBC for a tv show mom would be doing. We got lost in LA and had to do the thing by phone. But when we got back to GodBlogCon everything seemed to get better( for me at least). Everyone there new about my blog. So, my larger audience has made me feel so much better. Even though I look at my notes on one of the panels and see La Shawn Barber said "Blog for the writing, not for being a blogger superstar." One of my fiends Matt Lee said some very nice things about mom and me on his blog: Mere Orthodoxy.
I also met Stacy Harp, the president of the Active Christian Media. I got her blog: The Right View which is really nice too.
One more couple I met ( I forgot to ask them if I could use their names) which noticed my blog has a son who designs websites and makes vidoes( he started at a young age like me so he's very experienced) at sikoramedia.com
So the GodBlogging has been very beneficial to my blog and me and I'm very glad I got to go.

GodBlogCon

We were really hungry today at three specific times. 4 AM, 9 AM, and 3PM( LA time). So, obviously we were way outta wack. But just a few jelly beans straightened it all out.
After mom and La Shawn Barber, John Mark Reynolds, and Andy Jackson spoke there was a break and then another conference. This one involved La Shawn Barber, John Mark Reynolds, and Dr. Allen McColloch, speaking of the war on terror. Hugh Hewitt was the host.

Pictures of Godblogcon and Biola University

Today, the Diva was our photographer. She got plenty of pictures of Biola and the Godblog Conference. Here are the pics. Hey, notice anything odd in the posting circle? Oh! there's a kid in there!!! I wonder how many posts he's got??? 80??!! Yes, the Panzer Commander is celebrating his 80 post.

Bridging the Political Divide

Bridging the Political Divide

My mother was able to talk about a topic, Bridging the Political Divide. I took notes during the whole hour and a half. So, I got alot of notes. Here they are. Please excuse my poor typing and lack of attention to the topic (I just focused on the words, not the meaning. However when I went back to edit my notes I finally understood the meaning.

Bridging the Political Divide

Why fewer democrats in blogosphere?

Certain issues Christians should be united in? Seek his glory of the lord above everything.

A dialogue among followers of Christ.

We haven’t worked hard enough to provide forums.

Christians have been caught up in the “divide”.

Political liberal can really be a “Christian”???

More diversity in political choices; no more “Republican vs democrats”

Some people go to far to learn who God is.

God says to take a stand. Scripture says you are with me or against me.

Mom doing great.

A lot of criticism because of too many Republicans last time.

(note to self)

Cornell West person look him up.

Most people in US have been evangelical

Most Christians have fallen into evangelical beliefs

There are more left of center Christians than right of center Christians.

Mom speaking

Justice Sunday attracts bloggers… but not the right bloggers.

One blogger, Ann Althouse, perfect blogger for blogger on the left.

Shae says she’ll go to Justice Sunday.

Then she doesn’t go

Her blog says she didn’t come because she thought she wouldn’t fit in.

Obviously complete arrogance.

Andy Jackson speaks

John Marc Reynolds speaks

It’s hard to speak up and say you’re a Christian.

La Shawn Barber speaks

John Marc Reynolds speaks

La Shawn Barber speaks

Racial minority is why some people don’t come to Christian fellowships

John Marc Reynolds speaks

80 percent of true Christians voted for George W Bush

Q: what advice given to new blogger that wants to talk about politics

La Shawn Barber speaks

Use blogger.com

Do it for the writing not for being a blogger superstar

Do it if you like to write

Comment about a news story

Q: What kinds of news stories do you comment on? (I asked this question and everyone laughed)

La Shawn Barber

A story that looks biased or left out key elements. Story that looks easy to blog about.

John Marc Reynolds speaks

Blog for more Christian views

( at this point there are a few “insults”) and…

Andy Jackson says

“God is an orderly God” (joke)(everyone laughs)

John Marc Reynolds speaks

Blogging makes you look unlike a cartoon character

Andy Jackson speaks

Mom speaks

Blogging gives you a chance to write about something you can’t publish

Blog about what you like to talk about

John Marc Reynolds speaks

Host:

Q: What is 1 dilemma or 1 major problem bloggers are not focusing on?

MOM speaks

1 problem is the number of adoptions. If every church in America took 1 foster child in the homes, the foster care problem would not be as big.

John Marc Reynolds speaks

He was taught to handle things so there was no problem handling those things.

Host

All political things are equal, but some are more equal.

How do you discern good and bad arguments?

John Marc Reynolds speaks

You should always check credentials before criticizing someone.

Just use logical ways of arguments

Don’t intentionally make a bad argument.

Don’t think long is better in arguments; 2 pages of argument is useless.

End argument.

MOM

Blogosphere easy to get citations.

John 14:6

Writers never have to afraid of what they’re talking about.

Liberals run away from the consequences of their actions.

The democrats’ philosophy sounds good, but later in life people see the holes.

Andy Jackson speaks

From a pastor perspective

Power corrupts without a more ultimate authority ( I put this in bold because I liked it)

MOM

Give criticism and putting your name as anonymous is being cowardly.

La Shawn Barber speaks

She gets lots of attacking comments

So how do you respond to attacking comments?

La Shawn Barber speaks

I toughen up and see it as not so bad, I tolerate it because I think the comments are weak.

SMART PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO COMMENT.

MOM

Don’t talk about politics if God hasn’t called you to do it.

Host

Q: How does your personal blog shape your outside life and vice versa?

MOM

Talking on blogs reflects how people think of you.

You have to be wise about what you say.

You have to think about something before you publish something.

Have someone look at your post before you publish it.

Don’t go by your own ear.

John Marc Reynolds speaks

(rude interruption by banging on door)

He moved to a group blog so his co-workers can check what he says.

The worst thing about the blogosphere is that it might ruin your future.

No dates on a blog make a blog bad (myspace’s too)

MOM

One person’s résumé said she’s a blogger. Mom looks at the blog and doesn’t hire her because of the depression in her blog.

La Shawn Barber speaks

She thinks herself fortunate that she doesn’t have any thing to stop her from blogging.

Host

Q: Give 1 piece of advice for students under one sentence long. Like, “don’t get at tattoo”.

Andy Jackson

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. (Matthew 6:33)

La Shawn Barber

Be bold in everything you do.

MOM

Like all good stories, blogging should be about stories.

John Marc Reynolds

Ask yourself harder questions then your opponent could ask you.

This is very rough. Please ignore my obvious mistakes. Thank You.

Mom, the Dude, and I were on a Boeing 737, and when it took off, it was like my stomach sinking into the back of my seat! We were on the plane for nearly 7 hours, and there wasn't much to do. My bro,the Dude, was listening to the Ipod almost all of the trip! So, I looked out the window for a little bit, but when the plane got above the clouds it was kinda boring so I pulled down the window shade and I asked the Dude if I could listen to the movie that he was watching. Then I started to take a nap, actually we all did, so when that was over, the Dude went back to the Ipod! Geez! Mom was still asleep. So I pulled up the shade and looked out the window. A little while later the captain said that we would be descending in about 10 minutes and that there was a forest fire going on and not to be afraid. The Dude took a lot of pictures of the smoke because we couldn't see the fire. Then I could feel the plane going down! We were about to land... And then KA-THUMP-SKREEEEEEEEESHHHHHHHERRRRRRRRR... We had landed!

Esperanza Fires

Esperanza Fires

Yesterday, when we flew over the fires, we just thought: cool, a few acres of land being controlled burned. Well, the reality came from Drudge Report. 24,000 acres of land (38 square miles), 1,100 firefighters, 4 deaths, 10 structures ruined, and 5 homes. To hear more, click on the link above. A 100,000$ reward will be given to any info given about the arsonist.

In these pics are: me hangin' in the cockpit, a palm tree, some lines all over the ground like a checkerboard pattern, and the plane going through a cloud, and the smoke from the LA forest fires(it looked redder in real life(you couldn't see the flame but there was alot of smoke.)

In the air

At the time I wrote this post (on Microsoft word) we were cruising around 35,000 feet up in the airgoing 500 MPH . I’m just going to cut and paste this to blogger. Currently we are in a Boeing 737 just like I wanted. Like most times we aren’t heading exactly for Los Angeles; we are going to a place called Orange County. But we are lucky to even be on a plane headed there. We got to the airport only 20 minutes before we had to board (this was at the airport in Newark). So we were very stressed getting on the plane to Orange County.

4 Hours after writing the previous, the Dude and the Diva arrive in LA. 5 minutes prior to that, they learn LA rush hour is not good. 2 hours after that, the Dude and Diva arrive at the hotel famished. It is now 7:45 LA time; 10:45 body time.

But before that happened, when we were on the jet to LA, we first got food. Pizza, Chips, Macaroni paste, etc., so we weren't starving the first hour.

In one of the pics you see the Diva and I stocking up on snacks at the candy store.

In another you see some red smoke from the LA forest fires!!!

The others are pics of the trip altogether. Soon I will have a video of the takeoff/landing on Youtube.

A link to my dad's blog to hear more.

Blogger Convention

Blogger Convention

Today I'm headed to Los Angeles for my mothers Blogger Convention. It, at first, was only going to be mom and The Diva, but I made a good case and now The Dude, The Diva, and The uh... Mom,are headed to LA. Just last night we looked at the artinerary and noticed that before we went to LA we made a pit stop at Newark (????) before we go to LA. But still, this trip is going to be awesome. Because we're flying halfway no, all the way across the USA I'm hoping we're going to fly in a Jumbo Jet (I've never flown in one before). Please comment to tell whether or not I would be flying in a jumbo jet.

Ginger Ale

Ginger Ale

I got sick over the weekend. First, it seemed like a 24 hr. bug; but when I was still sick today, mom decided I needed some Tylenol. That didn't work. So, 4 hrs. later Mom gave me some Pepto Bismol. I threw it back up. So I did some stuff on the internet and found out that Ginger helps upset stomachs. It sort of worked; at least better than the real medicine.

At school we read stories or we go on field trips. Then the whole class writes a story where they pretend they're the main charicters, or what the person in charge talked about most. Here's a story about when we went on a field trip to a place where an indian tribe lived:

Dear diary, today I saw some strange men while I was fishing. They had wepons made out of metal! So, since the tribe and I were leaving, we traded the things we were going to leave behind for those metal stuff, now we have things like metal ax heads, knives, spear heads, needles and other cool things. Now chopping down trees and making clothes with metal needles and ax heads!

Black Rock Retreat

Black Rock Retreat

Yesterday I came back from a school field trip retreat. It was 3 days long and a real blast. We went on a night walk which we just walked around in the woods. The 7th grade was really unlucky; The 8th graders got to go on this ropes course that was huge, And the 6th graders got to go wading through water, but the 7th fraders really didn't do anything like that. But it was still really awesome.
In one of these pics I get to eat some edible plants (mountain sorrell). In another, one of my cabin mates holds his prize off the girls cabin. In another, is our cabin, the Paradise Cabin. Another is 2 of my other friends with the "Moses staff". The others are just pictures of the whole campus.

Wildcats vs.Unity

Wildcats vs.Unity

If you live in Maryland, you know that today... it rained. But rain doesn't stop football. So the game of the week was Wildcats vs. Unity. We played in the mud and still won. We went into overtime for our third time in five games. The end score was 14(13) to 7. In overtime our defense won the game. I helped. I recovered the fumble you see in the video(you can't see it but you hear it.). They shut down their offense and guess who got to be Middle Line Backer(the leader)? Well, it was me. But that wasn't thye hardest part; the hardest part was center. The ball was wet and slippery and muddy and impossible to handle. But thier was only one bad snap! So my dad got some clips and pics of the muddy victory and a picture is worth a thousand... posts. Photo credits go to The Diva.
